i was previously using the free trial version of adobe acrobat pro dc which did exactly what i needed it to but i' m not interested in paying a $ 15/ month subscription for any software at this time. else, pdf expert has the best functionality if you plan to annotate, edit, or modify pdfs. tried iskysoft trial, but that just leaves a giant ass watermark. it' s a lot more affordable than pdfpen pro and around the same price as pdfexpert. adobe acrobat is considered as the industry standard for pdf editing and is a paid software.
how about the textsniper app. if you just need to open and read pdfs without doing anything else, just use the default preview app. why not just use pages ( free), word ( paid) and then export it as a pdf? excellent solution for most common needs. i would suggest pdf studio.
